Library
The Cedars provides a library service which includes a selection of large-print books. The local Mobile Library visits regularly to exchange titles.
Mini-Bus
A mini-bus with a tailgate lift for wheelchairs is regularly used for day trips and visits, with a trained first-aider always on board.
Hairdresser
A qualified mobile stylist visits The Cedars on a weekly basis. However, if Residents prefer to use their own mobile hairdresser, arrangements can easily be made to use the in-house salon.
Health
Where possible, Residents may prefer to retain their existing GP. However, weekly surgeries are held in-house by a local GP. Arrangements can be made should any resident need a Community Nurse. Chiropody, dentistry and ophthalmic services can be arranged on request.
Worship
A strong Christian ethic is encouraged within The Cedars, however Residents are fully supported in practicing the religion of their choice. Weekly Church of England services are held for those who wish to attend. Communion can also be administered on a personal basis. A visit to the local Senior Citizen's Group takes place each Thursday.
Visitors
Friends and family are most welcome to visit Residents at all times.
Newspapers
Newspapers and magazines for personal use can be ordered through The Cedars and bills will be raised weekly. Free newspapers are available in the public areas.
Friends of The Cedars Christian Residential Home
Friends and relatives of Residents have the opportunity to join the Friends of The Cedars Christian Residential Home. The Group organises a variety of events to help both residents and external charitable projects.
